Best Friends Animal Society currently runs the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and provides adoption, spay/neuter and educational programs nationwide. They also manage the Best Friends Network which comprises more than 2,600 animal welfare organizations working towards shelters becoming no kill around the country. They are near and dear to our hearts in particular because Abby was rescued from a high kill shelter in Baldwin Park, California and thanks to the efforts of Best Friends and a local So Cal rescue called United Hope for Animals if we had not adopted her she was still going to make it out because Best Friends had arranged for her and others to have their angel flight shuttle out to be transported to Oregon and Washington. Abby had already been in the shelter for two months. Her time was up. Forever ever grateful to the advocacy of United Hope for Animals and Best Friends Animal Society and hope another dog got her spot on the transport out.
WALK HIKE PLAY LLC is so proud to support The Farm Sanctuary by sponsoring a farm animal every year and by eating a plant based diet. While living in California, Nicole and her husband, Dave, had the most incredible time volunteering at the Southern California chapter of Gene Bauer's Farm Sanctuary and getting to know the animals that thrive there. Did you know pigs love belly rubs as much as dogs do?
The Rescue Freedom Project is a vital organization working toward the release of animals from laboratories and an eventual end to animal testing altogether. WALK HIKE PLAY LLC as a company strives to support the Rescue Freedom Project through funding and shopping for products not tested on animals. One way you can help is by shopping using the cruelty cutter app: http://cruelty-cutter.org
